With
it's blend of regional and national news, interviews
with experts on today's hottest topics, and all around
fun, the "KPSI Morning Show" has become
a part of the Coachella Valley residents' morning
ritual.
Stan
Layne began his relationship with KPSI back in 1970
as our 7pm - Midnight DJ, back when KPSI, then 1450am,
played music. In 1971, he became our morning DJ (6am-10am)
where he became "Shoeless Stan Layne". Shoeless,
as his friends called him, woke up the Coachella Valley
residents with the best in adult popular music (Manilow,
Mathis, Frank, etc.) and his brand of humor and topical
interviews until he left the station in 1974.
In
1980, "Shoeless Stan Layne" returned to
KPSI as part of a new morning talk show - "Stan
and Ed In the Morning." After 3 years, Stan left
KPSI once again, this time to start his practice as
a family therapist.
In
the '90's, Stan became a regular contributor to the
"KPSI Morning Show", which was hosted by
the late Paul Mitchell.
In
1998, KPSI-am switched its frequency from 1450 to
920am, where you can listen to us today.
In
1999, Stan returned as the host of the "KPSI
Morning Show" and has remained here ever since.
Stan's insight, intelligence and sense of humor continue
to make the "KPSI Morning Show" the most
listened to morning show in the Coachella Valley.
